CQ County RWD#4's water source if the Quivira Boy Scout Lake, located north of Sedan. The Longton water treatment plant closed on December 15, 2013. At approximately 10 AM on December 16, 2013, Longton began receiving water from CQ County RWD#4. The water is pumped directly into the pedestal water tower. Wastewater TreatmentLongton operates a three-cell discharging lagoon system with a total surface area of 4.8 acres. The north cell is 2.3 acres with a 3,314,000-gallon capacity, the west cell is 1.5 acres with a 2,130,000-gallon capacity, and the east cell is 1.0 acre with a 1,380,000-gallon capacity. The design flow allows 56,600 gallons per day. Per KDHE regulations, the wastewater lagoon is closed to the public.
Class I Wastewater Operator Bonnie Foged May 2020-Present Wastewater Rates KDHE Wastewater Permitting and Compliance Trash ServiceLongton contracts with Republic Services to pick up trash weekly on Thursday mornings. Residential dumpsters are included in the base charge, and poly carts are available upon request. Most items can be picked up, but please cut large items down to fit in the dumpster. Remember to bag it, tie it, and toss it to prevent trash from scattering.
NO hazardous material, wet paint, tires, batteries, refrigerants, concrete, or rocks. Trash Rates: $24.20 per month $ 3.59 poly-cart up-charge Please remember, dumping trash without an active account is considered theft of service. Violators will be prosecuted. |
